Error in 2nd pass of "build your own"
« on: Fri May 26 03:01:17 2017 »
Hi there,
I got all the way to point 14 in the Pass 2, with no errors (a couple of typos !!) and there is an error in building tzdata
'Error building /root/development/base/tzdata/tzdata1495932294x86_64.cards.tar.xz failed;
Pkgfile:  line 15 : zic command not found...

All this time, and careful effort and disappointment... Any suggestions would be welcomed......I have followed your instructions very pedantically, and this is the only error I have had.. Pass1 went through with no problems....
Have a good weekend
Richard ........Oh yes, the laptop has a brand new install of NuTyX on /dev/sda1, only the base install (upgraded) and cards.devel.. No graphics, as I wanted to have a clean base system to use as the host..The' Build your own' is on sda2... both ext4 partitions.. I,ll use the host grub to point to both systems

The zic command is installed when glibc is installed (the first package). If zic is not found it can be two possibility:

- The PATH variable is wrong
- glibc package went wrong and did not succeed to install

Make shure you did the point 12:

Code: [Select]
export PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/tools/bin:/root/bin
Check that glibc is indeed installed

Compare the log of glibc with the official one:

Thanks Thierry,

I'll check it out tomorrow.... Not so easy doing it all from scratch. Procedures and checks, are only too easily forgotten.
Good fun though !!
Merci
