I've been exploring JWM for a few days! I'm still configuring it, but here's my NuTyX using JWM! 8)

...using xdgmenumaker to provide a dynamic applications menu.  :D

Beautifull and more when you think it's just JWM as Desktop Environment. This must be very very speedy.

Thanks for your screenshot will add it ASAP.

It's very fast...I think I can honestly say that it's the fastest system that I've every personally used.  :D

I think I've almost finished configuring everything...made some slight color changes, and finally figured out how to make menu entries with sub-menus...man, that took forever to find out how to do it!

EVERYTHING in JWM is configured with one single configuration file. I know one thing...after I finally have it exactly the way I want it, I'm going to protect that file with my life...   ;D

What do you think if you publish and we produced an official JWM ISO together with defaults settings as yours ? It's just an idea

Really? I'd be happy to do that!  :D

I'm out of practice making an .iso though...I haven't tried to build one since the Openbox .iso that I made.  :P  I'll see what I can do,  :)

I'm still tweaking the system, so it might be a little while before I have every little thing set up.  ;D

Here's what JWM looked like after I first installed it...   ???    :o    ;D

A JWM iso would be interesting, and even just publishing a nicely configured .jwmrc example would be useful.

Hi hjevets!

I'm new to JWM myself...had to do a lot of reading/trial-and-error to get it the way I liked it!  ;D

I'll gladly post my .jwmrc if it's okay with Thierry...I'm not sure though since we're planning on producing an .iso with the configs that I came up with...don't know if we should make it public before the release of the .iso???

I've also made a light theme, so users will be able to use a dark or light theme based on Adwaita or Adwaita-Dark.  I'll post a screenshot later of the light theme.  ;)

Yes, with a JWM iso there would be no need to also post a .jwmrc separately.

As I explained elsewhere to Thierry, I do not have much technical knowledge. However, I do understand a little bit what you have been experiencing while configuring JWM. I did that a bit myself when starting to explore linux as an idea for making use of some older, spare computer hardware. (That idea also led me here to NuTyX.)

I look forward to seeing the iso with JWM when you have time to produce it.

Do what's the best for you ( and for NuTyX of course), I guess both would be nice :D .

Well, I'm actually still tweaking the system.  :P   ;D

I keep finding little things that I want to make better for the .iso. So, at this point, I'd feel better if I waited to post the .jwmrc file(s) until I'm satisfied with the final product.  :)

Here's a quick glimpse at the light theme in progress...

Thank you Thierry!

I hope to have the final configuration touches finished today or tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll try to produce an "alpha" .iso on Saturday.  ;)

Okay! Whew! I think I've finished the configuration...   :P

Ended up making a very simple JWM theme switcher (in the menu) so that a user can easily change between the light and dark JWM theme.  ;)

Did a few more tweaks on top of it...

Will try to make the alpha .iso tomorrow!   8)   :D

Hi hjevets! I know you've already tried the .iso, but I went ahead and made the .jwmrc files available in the "Your Examples" portion of the forum.  ;)
