5 news ISOs are available.

    for 64-bit:

The first ISO is a base NuTyX "rolling" version with a size of 402 Mbytes.

A 4.4 GByte ISO base NuTyX "fixed" version is available which contains a complete repository of the binaries for the NuTyX 11.3 release. You can install NuTyX 11.3 completely without having to use the internet. To install packages from this ISO, once your base system is installed, configured and booting, it's just a question of mounting the media on the /mnt mounting point.

Suppose you media is found under /dev/sdc1, use the following command to mount it:

    sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt

Change this command to reflect your system.

A 804 Mbyte ISO Miyo Linux JWM desktop in "rolling" version. This ISO is the result of the expertise of Miyo, our new ISOs maintainer.

A 1.7 GByte MATE desktop in "rolling" version.

    for 32-bit:

A 327 Mbytes ISO base NuTyX "rolling" version.

ISOs are available on the download page.

What's new ?

Sourceforge.net

All the ISOs are now at sourceforge.net website available.

ISO

The installer sets the right keyboard in graphical mode for many countries.

The ISO is using the minimal in RAM when booting up. This speeds up the BOOT process. In case of, a new entry is added to give the possibility to load the ISO in RAM if necessary.

CARDS

When a package is not existing anymore, cards throws an error message instead of freezing.

When a folder without Pkgfile file is tracked by cards, an error will be throw in the terminal when commands cards deptree cards depends or cards create are used.

The command cards search is looking in every posssible information, means seach can be done based on version, url and packager infos as well.

The command cards upgrade now takes care of synchronisation the meta datas, upgrading and cleaning the cache. It's no longer needed to make a sudo cards sync and a sudo cards purge if cards upgrade is used.

New team member

I'm please to annonce that Miyo Linux is joining the team. Dan will take care of the customised ISO. We appreciate his expertise in this task. Dan proposed a very nice presentation video on his Youtube channel which is the official NuTyX YouTube channel for the non french speaking peoples.

Upgrade process

Since this is a minor release, an upgrade is possible.

Code: [Select]
check
sudo cards upgrade

Hi, writing this from the 4.7 GB installed image.
That's not my first try however.
The system is quite fragile.

First, if you installed over an installed Nutyx, it will install the files, but when rebooting (without fully rebooting), it will not ask for keyboard configuration, nor ask for a user password, and will go directly to the login prompt... where there is no user/password to give.
Hopefully, Advanced options will allow to partition and make a filesystem before returning to install menu.

When it comes to mount the usb key on /mnt, it will say that the device is busy.
So I have to unplug and replug the usb stick before, which does change for me the key from sdb to sdc.

Then after installing your desktop, and lxdm... then rebooted... I realized I forgot to install firefox.
So I tried to cards upgrade without mounting the usb key to /mnt.
That resulted in the system to "dissolve" (erase every packages installed).

But apart from these... it seems to work.

Never install any OS on an already install OS, that's not specific to NuTyX.

And If you still want to use the same partition without format it, you choose:

     Advanced -> Erase NuTyX

before reinstall NuTyX on it, we use to use this technique when we do a NuTyX upgrade.

Happy new year 2020 :)

Good!  :)
Glad you been able to replicate and fix that one!

BTW: current cards 2.4.108 reports itself as 2.4.107... most probably because VERSION was not updated in Makefile.inc file.
