Title: Openshot
Post by: oyim on Tue Nov 27 07:05:32 2018
Hello!

I was very pleased to see Openshot has recently been added to the repository. Unless I missed it, I had searched for it previously, but it wasn't available. I ended up installing kdenlive since Openshot wasn't available. I'm not a fan of kdenlive.  ;D   :P

I tried installing Openshot, and received the following errors...see the parts in bold.

Quote
sudo cards install openshot
Retrieve info about the 584 packages: 100 %
usr/share/pixmaps/openshot-qt.svg
post-install: start
  /sbin/ldconfig -r /
  /usr/bin/update-desktop-database -q usr/share/applications/
  /usr/bin/gtk-update-icon-cache -f -t usr/share/icons/hicolor/
gtk-update-icon-cache: Failed to open file usr/share/icons/hicolor/.icon-theme.cache : No such file or directory
  /usr/bin/update-mime-database -n usr/share/mime/
Directory 'usr/share/mime/packages' does not exist!

The first error --> Failed to open file usr/share/icons/hicolor/.icon-theme.cache : No such file or directory

That is correct. I don't have a hidden file named .icon-theme.cache, but I do have a file that isn't hidden named icon-theme.cache

The second error --> Directory 'usr/share/mime/packages' does not exist!

That isn't correct. I do have that directory.

Is there anything that I can do to fix this so that it will finish installing?

Thank you!  :)

Thank you Thierry.

I have it installed now.  :)

I removed the two libopenshot packages and then tried installing it again. It said that it was already installed...even though it wasn't showing in my menu nor in /usr/share/applications. I opened up flcards too, and it wasn't showing that it was installed. Strange.  ;D

So I used the -f flag to overwrite it, and everything is great.  8)
